Inside one Chicago neighborhood, homes resold after three years or more often finished well above or well below the neighborhood's own price change.

How far homes landed from their neighborhood

Set each Chicago home resold after three years or more against its own neighborhood over the same years, and the middle half landed anywhere from 1.4% a year below the neighborhood to 1.4% a year above it. In all, 38% finished at least 2% a year away from their neighborhood.
